However, the temperature should not be too low, otherwise the frozen garlic cloves will be soaked in water, turn gray-white, have a poor taste, and seriously lose their edible value. In addition, if the storage temperature is higher than 5°C, garlic cloves will germinate easily, and the garlic cloves will lose their nutrients and dry out.
Relative humidity: The relative humidity of purple-skinned garlic when kept fresh is 80%~85%. After the temperature reaches the standard value, the next step is to control the humidity in the warehouse. Humidity should not be too high, as too high will cause the bulbs to easily absorb water and become damp and moldy; conversely, too low humidity will aggravate the transpiration of garlic, leading to water loss and cell drying.
Can you freeze garlic?
